A sexual health clinic opens in Hartlepool, offering “free and confidential” sexual health services.

The service – run by Virgin Care – moved into purpose-built accommodation on November 1.

It is described as “confidential, non-judgmental and for people of all ages, genders and orientations”, and it is not necessary to make an appointment with a general practitioner before arrival.

Services available also include emergency contraception, rape and abuse support, pregnancy tests, PrEP, and erectile dysfunction counseling.

Lauri Mclaughlin, Manager of Services at Sexual Health Teesside, said: “The move allowed us to regenerate the site, which had been vacant for some time.

“The medical center has undergone a complete overhaul, including refurbishment and redevelopment. The improvements include new equipment, improved information systems and technology.

“In addition, a new automatic check-in system will be installed by mid-November, offering more personalized and faster service. These new updates and enhancements will help us continue to provide the highest quality care and support to patients in our community. “
