A Kenyan man suffering from erectile dysfunction underwent a penile implant procedure at a healthcare facility.

The procedure was carried out at the main private hospital in Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, to help resolve the man’s situation.

The Aga Khan University Hospital where the procedure took place said it was the first time such an operation had been performed in East and Central Africa.

The procedure was performed on the 44-year-old man who doctors said had suffered from erectile dysfunction for several years.

The penile implantation procedure involves implanting a prosthetic device into the penis.

“The advantage of this surgery is that the man can have sex at any time without using any medication,” said lead surgeon Dr. Ahmed Yousef.

Doctors said the operation was performed on the patient after alternative treatments failed to alleviate his condition.
